Weymouth Youth Lacrosse is changing!! From our website, to a New and very exciting program for the players, parents and coaches alike!

--------------------------

What is the House League? The house league will be comprised of equally weighted teams. Rosters will be 16-22 players depending on overall sign-up numbers. They will be broken down as they have been in  5th and 6th graders will play together and 7th and 8th graders will play together. Games will be 10 on 10  (3 attack, 3 midfielders,  3 defensemen and 1 goalie) Games will be 4 -10 minute stop time quarters. Games will be against other town teams in the MBYLL and will be played Sundays throughout the day. Typically the 7th and 8th grade (U15 Team) will play at 12 pm, the 5th and 6th grade (U13) will play at 1:30 pm, the 3rd and 4th grade will play at 3 pm, and the K, 1st and 2nd grade will play at 10:30 am.

--------------------------

Practice for our House League will be 1 time per week for 1½ hours.  Practices will be structured primarily in a “station format” with all kids receiving equal instruction. Players will also learn a basic offense and defense as well as clearing and riding.

--------------------------

Our Travel Program is new this year. Changes that we believe enhance the experience of each player. All kids are welcome. This will be for the 5th and 6th grade players and the 7th and 8th grade players. There will be NO CUTS BASED ON SKILL. There are however some requirements: In order to participate in this program you must be entered into the House League. You must also be willing to make a commitment to make lacrosse your Spring sport. This means a commitment to show up to practices and not just games. In order for the program to be successful for the PLAYERS, all PLAYERS must work together and develop not only individual skills, but team concepts as well! The players on this team will have one house league practice and one travel team practice per week. Players will be required to attend both practices. They wil also have a mid week game against the area's top youth teams and all star teams. These games will either be on a Saturday or  mid week. These travel team games will start Mid April.

--------------------------

3rd and 4th graders will play on equally weighted (skill wise) teams.  They will be playing in their respective division (Same as last year U11.)  Practices will be up to 2 times per week for March and April  for 1 to 1 ½ hours each session. Mid April and May, teams wil have only 1 practice per week.  Teams will be made up of 16-22 players per team, Games will be 10 on 10  (3 attack, 3 midfielders,  3 defensemen and 1 goalie.) Games will be 4 -10 minute stop time quarters. Games will be against other town teams in the MBYLL and will be played Sundays  Game times for this group are typically at 3:00 pm.

Small Ball - Small ball is a new program that we will be running for the U9 and U11 players starting in May. This will be held on Saturday mornings. We will play a 7 on 7 format on a short field. Each team will be slit up evenly and will have 10 -12 players per team. Teams will play 4 - 10 minute quarters (2 attack, 2 midfielders, 2 defensemen, and 1 goalie). The purpose of "small ball" is to give the players an opportunity to go out and play amongst their friends in a fun setting where all players will touch the ball more frequently due to the smaller field and small numbers per team. This will be an in-house league for Weymouth Youth players only.
